The Survey

Hey, web professionals, look over here - this is the survey for you! Last year almost 33 000 thousand web enthusiasts took the survey, which enables A List Apart to collect the data and to figure out how the web industry is doing, and how to improve it.

So, head over to A List Apart and participate, it's really simple.

I've lost my feeling

Oh golly. Puclicis London, what have you done? I suppose you're trying to be spontaneous, fun, we-are-enjoying-our-work-so-muchy and stuff, but as one of the worlds leading communication agencies (at least before this) - why on earth would you do this? This is cringeworthy, to say the least.

Goggle your surroundings

Google released a cool app for it's Android phone yesterday called Google Goggles. It's a feature that supports visual search and instead of googling the restaurant your're standing in front of, just take a picture of it and it will provide you with your search results. Pretty astonishing right? I hope this is as good as it sounds, and that this technique soon will be available on the iPhone as well!

Google goes blue

Google

Okay, so Google has made quite a radical change to it's iconic startpage interface. Go to google.com (it has to be the english version) and type in the following in the url field:

javascript:void(document.cookie="PREF=ID=20b6e4c2f44943bb:U=4bf292d46faad806:TM=1249677602:LM=1257919388:S=odm0Ys-53ZueXfZG;path=/; domain=.google.com");

Hit enter, then visit google.com again. You see it? It kind of looks like Google Wave if you've had the chance to try it out.

I'm sure Google has lots and lots of talented designers in their team, but to limit their talent and experience to this - and this is probably the most radical redesign they've done in half a decade - is such a waste. It actually looks like an early mockup for a web site. Exactly like Google Wave does. I hope this doesn't influence the industry and it's designers that much.

I'm sorry Google, you do not have my approval.

Refocus

I've decided to refocus this blog to what's really going on in my life professionally, alas in a more tech and design related way. Right now it just feels like another Twitter blog, which my Twitter account suits the need for just fine. In a couple of days I'll show you the process of my soon to be released portfolio web site as well. That'll be fun, right?

Here comes the sun

The 4 (four) hours of sun we've seen in Stockholm so far in november, have just become 4,05 hours. This is a good day.

Sneak peak = very soon!

So i've been busting my behind for a couple of days, and now I almost have a sneak peak preview of my new portfolio site to show you. The design is nearly finished, and then I guess I'll have to dust off my ol' developer skills and start digging. What's the best place for a poor guy to improve his HTML/CSS skills?

In the meantime anyhow, hold tight. It's gonna be spectacular!

Sneaky feature from Spotify?

I just heard a suspicious rumour about Spotify, Apples upcoming competitor #1. From what i've noticed, theres a commercial spot at about every sixth song with a free account. But when you get a premium account, which means no commercials, and cancel it, there's supposed to be commercials between every other or third song.

Might this actually be true and is a strategic move by Spotify to sort of make the user to keep going premium, or just hallucination by my fellow rumor maker?
